Christian Carnival & Tangled Bank
I decided to try something new and submitted posts to a couple of the blog carnivals this week, and two of the carnivals are up now. One of my submissions went to the Christian Carnival, whose host this week broke the submitted posts into categories: Walking in Faith, Theology, Debate and Discussion, Denominational Discussions, Politics, Education and Family Life, Culture, Tools and Technologies, Interviews, and Book Reviews. In a display of link love, I'll tell you which posts caught my attention enough to follow the link:
- Why I Like Television from Allthings2all
- Why do liberals hate Christian conservatives in politics? from Questions and Answers (not sure I would have used the word "hate" there, because it's a loaded word these days, but it's a good article anyway)
- Why I'm Anti-Abortion by Ragged Edges
- Are Christians Haters? from sprucegoose (well-written - I'll probably blogroll this guy after I read him for awhile)
- What is the Christian's Duty to the Poor? from Oh How I Love Jesus (I like discussion on this topic, because I always cringe when I hear people criticize President Bush for "not helping the poor" with his policy decisions, and then they smirk at his profession of Christianity. But God is very clear in Scripture on what government should be and what it shouldn't be - governments are in place to make and enforce laws, based on God's law, to ensure a just society. Governments are not put in place to take care of poor people - the church, Christians, are commanded to do that.)
I also made a submission to The Tangled Bank, which is a collection of posts pertaining to science and medicine, hosted here this week. Some interesting stuff there. Actually, I'll probably try to follow both of these carnivals around, looking for well-written posts and discovering new blogs.
